Helping Overwhelmed Dads Reconnect, Lead, and Thrive

  • Feeling stuck in your relationship and not sure how to turn things around?

  • Constantly reacting instead of leading your life with purpose?

  • Trying to “fix” everything but just making it worse?

  • Fatherhood feeling more like a pressure cooker than a place of joy?

  • Work draining you with nonstop stress and drama?

  • Running on fumes instead of strength and energy

Struggling to balance work, family, and your own sanity? Tired of feeling stuck in the daily grind? You're not alone. How do I know? Because I was you! Most dads want to be great fathers and partners—but between stress, responsibilities, and never-ending to-do lists, it’s easy to feel disconnected from the people (and purpose) that matter most.

It’s time to ditch survival mode and start leading your family—and your life—with confidence.

My Services

Back in 1997, a mentor sparked my love for teaching, guiding, and helping people grow — and then, well...life happened. Kids, work, responsibilities — the whole dad package. That passion for teaching got buried under baseball practices and figuring out why the Wi-Fi isn’t working.

But here’s the thing—it never really left.

Now, as a 60-year-old dad of three young boys, I’m bringing that fire back, not because I’ve got it all figured out, but because I don’t — and I know I’m not alone. Just like you, I have my moments. I mess up, I learn, and I try again. That’s the meaning behind everything I teach: being open, willing, and actually showing up for change. I wish I’d found something like this years ago, and that’s exactly why I created these programs for you (and me too). About Me

Gary Lavin, BS, CSCS

My story begins where all stories begin, at the beginning. But for your sake, I'll start in the middle. In 1994 I shut down my electrical contracting business and went back to college. I had recently fallen in love with fitness and learned I could actually get a degree in Exercise Science. After graduating (with honors), I teamed up with fitness mogul, Juan Carlos Santana, and developed what would become the Institute of Human Performance, the mecca of Functional Training. Almost immediately I began touring nationally presenting at conferences and developing my own philosophies on fitness as well as life. By 2008, I felt it was time for me to move on and grow. I moved to Jupiter, FL, to team up with my girlfriend (now my wife), Marissa Lysaght, and we opened our own successful venture, Fitness Redefined. Emphasizing functional strength development, I focused on balanced athletic skill and core stability.

As successful as our concept was, I still felt there was more. People were getting results, but rarely maintaining them. There must be another piece to this puzzle. That's when my personal development journey really took off. It began with reading (watching and listening as well). David Hawkins, Dr. Bruce Lipton, Dr. Robert Sapolsky and Gabor Mate just to name a few. Understanding the mind and emotions was my mission. Like the motor patterns that I had learned so much about in my fitness career, thought patterns were no different. If you want to change them, you'll have to train them and awareness is key that unlocks your potential. If any of my journey resonates with you, just click the button below and let's start building a legacy you can be proud of.

What can I expect from a Private Coaching Session?

A no-BS conversation where we get real about what’s working, what’s not, and how to fix it. We’ll tackle the challenges you’re facing as a dad, partner, and leader, break down what’s holding you back, and build a game plan that actually fits your life. No fluff, no lectures—just real talk, practical strategies, and a little humor to keep it interesting.

How long are the coaching sessions, and how frequently do they occur?

Coaching sessions typically last one hour and are tailored to your needs. The frequency depends on your preferences and goals. Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are common to maintain momentum and progress.

What makes your coaching approach different?

I don’t do fluff, lectures, or one-size-fits-all advice. This is real coaching for real dads—straight talk, practical tools, and a focus on actually making changes that stick. We cut through the noise, tackle what’s holding you back, and build a game plan that works for your life. Oh, and we keep it fun—because growth doesn’t have to feel like a root canal.

What kind of results can I expect?

More clarity, better communication, and fewer moments where you’re thinking, “I have no idea what I’m doing.” You’ll walk away with tools to handle stress, strengthen relationships, and actually enjoy the life you’re building—not just survive it.

FAQ image

How do you address mindset and emotional aspects in coaching?

We’re going to dig into what’s really going on under the hood—figuring out your emotions, spotting those sneaky thought patterns, and rewriting any beliefs that have been secretly working against you. Through real conversations and practical tools, we’ll shift your mindset, build emotional resilience, and set you up to actually thrive—not just survive. Because let’s be honest, white-knuckling your way through life isn’t the goal.

What kind of support do you provide between coaching sessions or classes?

I don’t just leave you hanging between sessions. If you’re in a program, you’ve got access to me via text and email for support when life throws you a curveball (or when you just need a quick gut check). Plus, you’ll get tools, resources, and exercises to keep the momentum going—because real change doesn’t just happen during our calls, it happens in the in-between moments too.
